Puppy steps has run group puppy training classes since 2014 and I have thoroughly enjoyed helping people and their puppies in this manner. I've had many customers come back to me with their second puppies, and those who have trained with me have often recommended me to friends and family, which is always lovely!
While running group classes, it can be hard to give people the individual attention that they and their puppy need. A ten week old puppy is at a different developmental stage than a five month old puppy, and yet they are often in the same class. While trainers always do our best to offer exercises at the appropriate level, inevitably this leads to some feeling they're not getting the help they and their puppy need.
My personal puppy coaching packages are ideal for brand new puppy owners, for those who cannot find a group class to suit their circumstances, those who want personal attention and accelerated learning for their puppy, those who find a group class overwhelming, or those whose puppy finds a group class environment too much.
What are the benefits of one-to-one training?
As puppies can be easily overwhelmed, one to one sessions occur in calm controlled environments. Sessions can be started as soon as you plan to bring your puppy home, and conducted in your house and garden before vaccinations have been completed, and then in real world situations as your puppy is able to go out.
Unlike fixed weekly classes, private sessions are much more flexible and can be adapted to your routine.
You receive 100% of my attention without feeling rushed to keep up with the class.
We can tailor the sessions to your puppies age and breed, focusing on the behaviors that are really important to you and your family and lifestyle, progressing at a rate that suits both you and your puppy.
What type of training is it?
All Puppy Steps training is reward- based. We will use food, toys and other things that your puppy finds motivating. The main focus is building your relationship with your puppy, and developing clear lines of communication in a safe, fun, thoughtful and effective way.
What's included?

We will also discuss what behaviors are particularly important to you, and build an initial training plan.
