Bringing a new puppy home can be overwhelming. You want to do the very best for your new arrival but there is so much to think about, conflicting information, and surprise, surprise, your puppy doesn't speak English!

There is a lot that you can accomplish in those first vital weeks with regards to training and socialisation, even before your puppy has completed its vaccinations.

An hour and a half home visit will cover the following information, tailored to you and your new puppy:

• How your puppy sees life, and how she learns
• Puppy biting/mouthing
• Socialisation
• House-training
• What to chew, what not to chew
• Exercise and mental stimulation
• Polite behaviour in the house
• How to motivate your puppy
• How to interrupt unwanted behaviour positively
• Basic training

As well as answers to any particular questions you may have. You will receive a handout pack covering all the subjects discussed.

Puppy Home visits can be in your home or remote. Mileage beyond 5 mile radius of Falmouth will be payable

“PRE-PUPPY” HOME VISIT

Many families buy a puppy and then find it more work than they originally realised. They have to make the agonising decision whether to return their new puppy to the breeder (the price of the puppy may not be refunded) or try to re-home it elsewhere.

If you are thinking about getting a puppy and are not sure whether it’s the right choice for your family, or are unsure of the right breed for your family, why not book a home visit to discuss the very real joys and pressures of bringing a puppy into your home, especially when you have children. Lindsay came to visit before I got Stan and was really helpful and honest in assessing whether there was a viable space for him in my life based on my weekly routine. She talked me through what to expect and came up with some great ideas on how to adapt the home. Totally recommended !

Lindsay came round at amazingly quick notice when looking after my 8-week-old alone got totally overwhelming. She instantly brought a relaxed, calm atmosphere to my home, and helped to put everything into perspective with reassurance and humour. Pup seemed much more chilled and focused (apart from the 1.5 hours of sleeping) and it’s now easier to see the points where she’s getting over-excited. All the pointers in the session were backed up with the research behind them, and she shared some great videos to make things clearer. It was lovely to see how fluid and responsive Lindsay’s approach to puppy play and ‘training’ is. I’d recommend this to anyone who feels like it’s all getting too much or the puppy books don’t seem to match your reality. And even if you’re not, book and have a really interesting 2 hours anyway! Thank you.

We are very pleased to recommend Lindsay as a highly professional and competent trainer who has shown us how to give Tyke the life he needs to live as a dog, but at the same time, within our domestic environment. Tyke is growing into a well behaved, gentle and friendly dog who is loved by all; as Lindsay usefully pointed out at our first meeting, Tyke doesn’t speak English, but we guess he too would recommend Lindsay very highly if he could: his wagging tail says it all.

Really enjoyed Puppy Steps puppy classes with our mini schnauzer puppy. Lindsay is very friendly and knowledgable, and the class was small and inclusive. She did a really good job of including my primary-aged children in the sessions and they learnt a lot too!
